Coal India B Sairam set to be next Director (Technical) of CCL

New Delhi: B Sairam is set to be the next Director (Technical) of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Coal. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. Currently, he is serving as Executive Director in Coal India Limited, the parent company of CCL.

Sairam has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of CCL from a list of eight candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on July 1. Candidates who appeared for the interview were from Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), South Eastern Coalfields Limited NLC India Limited and Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited.

As Director (Technical) of CCL, Sairam will be a member of the Board of Directors of CCL and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for the operation of mines and also for field activities, technical functions and safety of mines.
