New Delhi: Prachur Sah has been appointed as new Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cairn Oil & Gas, a unit of Vedanta Limited. The company announced his appointment on Tuesday. According to the company, Sah has held as Director – New Ventures and spearheaded the company's expansion efforts under the Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP) rounds, prior to this assignment.
Sah is an engineering graduate (B Tech in Electrical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. He has also done his master's in science (M Sc in Management, Oil and Gas Industry) from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (Scotland). He has more than 20 years of rich experience in the energy sector and has a deep understanding and experience of the oil and gas business. He has worked in several countries including South Asia, Middle East and Latin America. He had joined Cairn Oil & Gas in 2018.
Cairn Oil & Gas, a vertical of Vedanta Limited, is the largest oil and gas exploration and production company in India. The company contributed ~25% to India's domestic crude oil production in the financial year 2018-19. It has built the world's longest continuously heated and insulated pipeline, executed the world's largest Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) polymer flood project and is implementing the world's largest Alkaline Surfactant Polymer (ASP) project.
