Saikripa NGO has been working for the welfare of orphaned, abandoned and underprivileged children since 1988. The "Smiles We Spread" initiative is part of Indian Oil's people-centric social outreach programme aimed at encouraging employees to engage with communities through voluntary service and social inclusion activities.
The visit was led by Anurag Sachdev, Executive Director (Marketing & Coordination, Shipping), Refineries Headquarters, along with senior officials from the company's CSR, Contracts and Shipping departments.
During the programme, the children presented cultural performances and shared their aspirations and experiences with the visiting officials. The interaction provided an opportunity for the officials to engage with the children and encourage them to pursue their educational and personal goals.
Addressing the children, Sachdev encouraged them to dream big and work towards achieving their aspirations with dedication and discipline. He also emphasised the importance of developing interests in activities such as music, art and dance, noting that these pursuits contribute to confidence building and personality development.
The officials interacted with the children and distributed gifts during the programme. The initiative aimed to create a positive and encouraging environment for the children while reaffirming the company's commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
