Hyderabad: Defence PSU Mishra Dhatu Nigam (MIDHANI) Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Dr SK Jha inaugurated the vehicle sponsored by MIDHANI under corporate social responsibility (CSR) to Akshaya Patra Foundation in presence of MIDHANI's Director (Finance) N Gowri Sankara Rao, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Dr Upendra Vennam (IPoS) and General Manager A Ramakrishna Rao.
Akshaya Patra Foundation Team, including Akshayapatra's (Hyderabad Chapter) Vice President Yagneshwara Prabhu, State Head Rajini Sinha, Sr Manager Avinash Allam have expressed their gratitude to MIDHANI for their dedicated support in feeding nutritious food to the government school children of Telanagana state. The said vehicle is a custom-designed vehicle worth Rs 17 lakhs for delivering food to the schools and also for taking up COVID feeding activities. The inauguration event was organised by the MIDHANI's CSR Team Manager (HR) AR Rashmi and Senior Executive M Venugopal Swamy.
MIDHANI is committed to helping the deprived and underprivileged class of society. Despite the challenges of the COVID pandemic, MIDHANI in association with Akshaya Patra Foundation has distributed 1500 nos of "Dry Ration Kits" at a cost of Rs 11.25 lakhs to support the daily wagers and migrant labourers get through the difficult phase of COVID -19 lockdown at Hyderabad during the first COVID wave.
Further, MIDHANI has continued its support to Akshaya Patra by sponsoring Happiness Kits – an initiative launched by Akshaya Patra to support the beneficiary's nutritional needs by providing food items and also cater to their hygiene needs and help in addressing the learning gap due to school lockdown. Distributed 707 Happiness Kits to the government school children of Bhadradri – Kothagudem (Aspirational District).
In the past also MIDHANI has sponsored CSR funds to Akshaya Patra for the promotion of education and nutrition.
