BEL, Centum Electronics ink MoU to co-develop advanced defence technologies

Bengaluru: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Centum Electronics Limited, a global provider of Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) solutions, to jointly design, develop and manufacture advanced electronic modules, subsystems and systems for defence applications.

The collaboration will focus on critical technology domains such as Electronic Warfare (EW), radar systems, and secure military communications, strengthening India’s indigenous defence design and production ecosystem.

The MoU was exchanged by BEL's Director (Marketing) Suresh Kumar KV, and Centum Electronics Limited CMD Apparao V Mallavarapu in the presence of BEL CMD Manoj Jain and Centum Electronics Limited PresidentVinod Chippalkatti at BEL’s Corporate Office in Bengaluru.

BEL said the strategic partnership is aligned with the government’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in defence manufacturing and will play a significant role in reducing dependency on imports while enhancing indigenous capabilities in advanced technology areas critical to national security.
