New Delhi: Navratna defence public sector undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Esri India Technologies Private Limited to jointly pursue opportunities in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Location Intelligence and GeoAI for India's defence sector.

The MoU, signed on Monday, is aimed at strengthening cooperation in surge deployment capabilities for BEL and the Defence Services by combining BEL's expertise in defence electronics and systems integration with Esri India's capabilities in GIS, location intelligence and GeoAI.

Under the partnership, the both organisations will work together to ensure the timely availability and deployment of GIS-based solutions to support urgent operational requirements across India's defence initiatives. The collaboration is expected to enhance the use of geospatial technologies in defence applications while improving responsiveness during mission-critical deployments.

As part of the agreement, Esri India will also provide training support to BEL to help build in-house capabilities in GIS and GeoAI using its Indo ArcGIS platform.

The MoU has been exchanged between BEL's Director (Bangalore Complex) and Additional Charge Director (Marketing) Rajnish Sharma and Esri India's Managing Director Agendra Kumar in the presence of BEL's General Manager (Technology Planning) Ruchi Pant and General Manager (Strategic Planning) Anil Kumar Singh.
