New Delhi: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a leading Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), has reported robust financial growth in the first half (H1) of the fiscal year 2024-25, marking significant increases in both turnover and profitability. The company achieved a turnover of Rs 8,530.43 crore, representing a 15.83 percent increase over the Rs 7,364.82 crore recorded during the same period in the previous year.
In the second quarter (Q2) of FY 2024-25 alone, BEL's turnover reached Rs 4,425.29 crore, compared to Rs 3,918.13 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Profit Performance and Growth in PBT, net profit
BEL's Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the first half of FY 2024-25 stood at Rs 2,488.22 crore, reflecting an impressive 40.05 percent growth over the Rs 1,776.69 crore achieved in the previous year's first half. For Q2 FY 2024-25, PBT reached Rs 1,450.88 crore, an increase from Rs 1,072.94 crore in Q2 of FY 2023-24.
Similarly, the company reported a 39.03 percent year-on-year growth in net profit during the first half, recording Rs 1,867.41 crore as opposed to Rs 1,343.18 crore in the previous year. The net profit for Q2 of FY 2024-25 came in at Rs 1,091.27 crore, up from Rs 812.34 crore in the same period last year.
Order Book Position
As of October 1, 2024, BEL’s order book stood at a substantial Rs 74,595 crore, reflecting the company’s strong market position and continued demand for its defence and electronics solutions.
