The technologies transferred include an indigenous high-voltage power supply for airborne self-protection jammers, a tide-efficient gangway for naval jetties, advanced very low frequency–high frequency switching matrix systems, VLF loop aerials for underwater platforms, an indigenous waterjet propulsion system for fast interceptor craft, a novel process for recovery of lithium precursors from used lithium-ion batteries, and a long-life seawater battery system for sustained underwater sensing and surveillance applications.

Each product has been designed, developed and rigorously tested by Indian industry in close collaboration with DRDO domain experts and Tri-services, reinforcing the TDF scheme’s focus on critical technology development and import substitution.

The handover took place at the meeting of the Empowered Committee of DRDO, held at DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and DRDO Chairman Dr. Samir V. Kamat. Senior representatives from the Armed Forces, Department of Defence Production and DRDO were present.

During the meeting, the Committee approved 12 new projects spanning strategic, aerospace, naval and electronic warfare technologies. These approvals underline the government’s continued emphasis on enhancing domestic capabilities and reducing dependence on foreign technology in critical defence domains.

The Committee also discussed project approval mechanisms under the TDF scheme and stressed the importance of expediting end-to-end processing to ensure timely implementation aligned with the evolving requirements of the Services. It further deliberated on streamlining acquisition processes for successfully developed technologies, calling for policy alignment and enabling mechanisms to ensure faster induction and operational deployment.
