In an official communication to stock exchanges, HAL said the reported event was a “minor technical incident on ground” and not a crash involving the LCA Tejas aircraft. The company’s clarification comes amid media speculation around the safety of the indigenous fighter jet programme.

HAL further emphasised that the LCA Tejas maintains one of the best safety records among contemporary fighter aircraft globally, reinforcing confidence in the platform’s operational reliability.

The company noted that, as part of standard operating procedures, the issue is being thoroughly analysed. HAL is working closely with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to ensure a swift resolution.
