New Delhi: Continuing with its saga of setting bench marks, Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) created one more record on Marh 8 by docking the vessel MV Vishva Vijay, a bulk carrier belonging to Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI), Mumbai. This is the 2014th vessel being repaired at HSL is of Panamax class with 80,312 DWT and is the largest ever ship to be docked at HSL in its history since inception of the drydock in 1971.
The dimensions of the vessel are Length Overall – 229.0 Mtrs & Beam (Moulded) – 32.24 Mtrs and its seven cargo holds can carry 95,149 CBM of cargo. During the current FY 2022-23, HSL has successfully repaired and delivered nine ships of various owners on time. Out of that three Bulk carriers viz MV Vishva Vijeta, MV Vishva Malhar and MV Vishva Ekta of Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI).
