New Delhi: The Old Students Association (OSA) of Hindu College hosted the 20th edition of the prestigious Hindu College Distinguished Alumni Awards on September 21, 2025, at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The ceremony celebrated the remarkable achievements of alumni across diverse fields, honouring their contributions to public life, law, governance, arts, and society.

Hon’ble Justice Manmohan, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, was among the awardees but could not attend due to the visit of the Prime Minister to the state on the same day. His award was received on his behalf by Nalong Mize, Chairman, Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation and an alumnus of Hindu College.

The highlights of the evening included the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to eminent lawyer Rajiv Nayar, and special awards to Vikram Misri, Foreign Secretary, for outstanding work in public service; Pema Khandu, for his three-term leadership as Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh; and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, for excellence in cinema and OTT.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards were conferred upon:

  • Justice Ajay Digpaul – Excellence in Judiciary

  • Samir Sinha, Vandana Gurnani, Vivek Kumar – Excellence in Civil Service

  • G V Rao, Ajay Verma – Excellence in Legal Affairs

  • Rajiv Singh – Excellence in Security Affairs

  • Muktesh Pardeshi – Excellence in Foreign Affairs

  • Saket Kumar – Young Achiever in Civil Service

Speaking at the ceremony, OSA President Ravi Burman reflected on the legacy of Hindu College over its 126-year history, noting that the institution has produced leaders who have played pivotal roles in nation-building. He emphasized that the awardees serve as role models for current students, exemplifying innovation, critical thinking, and a commitment to social growth.

He also highlighted the OSA’s ongoing initiatives, including the restoration of the Old Hindu College campus at Kashmere Gate, where a Memorial Museum is being planned. “The OSA not only honours alumni but also builds platforms that connect generations, creating a roadmap for nation-building and character-building,” he said.

Citations for the award recipients were read by Ajay Verma, Secretary, OSA Hindu College.
