New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) organised a consumers’ meet at its headquarters on Friday to strengthen engagement with power sector consumers and discuss key issues related to coal supply, operational efficiency and policy initiatives.

The meeting brought together MCL’s top management and major power sector consumers to deliberate on upcoming policy initiatives, measures to improve operational efficiency, streamline coal dispatch, enhance transparency and proposed amendments to the Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA).

The meeting was chaired by MCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Uday Anant Kaole in the presence of A.K. Behura, Director (Finance) and In-charge (Marketing & Sales), MCL; S.K. Sadangi, Senior Advisor (Railways & Marketing), Coal India Limited (CIL); Manoj Kumar, Senior Advisor, CIL; and P.S. Saxena, Advisor, CIL. Senior officials, including General Managers and Heads of Departments of MCL, also attended the meeting.

Addressing the gathering, Kaole reiterated MCL’s commitment to ensuring the timely supply of quality coal while meeting the expectations of consumers. He said regular interaction with consumers plays an important role in improving service delivery, enhancing transparency and addressing emerging challenges in the coal supply chain.

Representatives from major power companies, including MAHAGENCO, APGENCO, TNPGCL, Adani Power Limited, Jindal Power Limited, Vedanta Limited, Jindal India Power Limited, GMR Kamalanga Energy Generation Limited, DB Power Limited, R.K.M. Power Limited, SEIL Energy, SKS Power and Haldia Energy Limited, participated in the meeting.
