MCL wins ASSOCHAM Business Excellence Award 2026

New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has been conferred with the prestigious ASSOCHAM Business Excellence Award 2026, under the category “Excellence in Mining Operations with Special Focus on Sustainability” in the PSU Sector.

The award was presented during the 4th Edition of the Minerals and Mining Conclave 2026 – Transformation for Global Competitiveness, organized by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) at Kolkata.

The Director General of the Geological Survey of India (GSI) Asit Saha, graced the occasion and presented the award. MCL's General Manager (Mining) Rajesh Sharma received the award on behalf of the company during the grand award ceremony.

This recognition has been bestowed upon MCL in appreciation of its outstanding contributions toward sustainable mining practices, operational excellence, and environmental stewardship. The award also highlights the company's rapid adoption of advanced, green technologies and its indispensable role in ensuring India’s energy security.

Continuing its legacy of operational brilliance, MCL achieved coal production of 218 Million Tonnes (MT) and a dispatch of 211 MT during the financial year 2025-26. These figures maintain MCL’s undisputed position as the highest coal-producing company in the country while it continuously advances technology-driven and eco-friendly mining initiatives.
