New Delhi: Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), a Miniratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week – 2022 from October 31 to November 6 with the theme "Corruption free India for a developed nation" as per the instructions of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated every year during the week in which October 31, the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel falls.
The observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week commenced with the administering of the Integrity Pledge by Dr. S.K. Jha, Chairman & Managing Director, MIDHANI on October 31 at 1500 hrs. The Inaugural program was attended by N. Gowri Sankara Rao, Director (Finance), T. Muthukumar, Director (Production & Marketing), other senior officials and all employees of MIDHANI.
A series of events on the theme "Corruption free India for a Developed Nation" have been organised for the employees. In view of Covid-19 pandemic, various Quiz competitions on topic like "MIDHANI Product, Policy & Procedures", "Corporate Governance Compliance at MIDHANI" and "Initiatives taken by Indian Govt. to make India free from Corruption" were conducted in on-line mode. In line with directive from CVC, Vendor Meet, Customer Grievance Redressal Session and 4 km Walkathon around MIDHANI neighbourhood area were conducted to motivate stakeholders across society to fight against corruption. On request from MIDHANI Vigilance dept, Elocution, Poster Making & Slogan writing competitions were also conducted by BPDAV School Management among the students as part of outreach activities during the week.
The week was concluded on November 4 with a Valedictory Program. The company invited Surjit Singh Maan, Ex-Director, Central Vigilance Commission as a Chief Guest for the Valedictory program. The program was attended by Dr. S.K. Jha, Chairman & Managing Director, N. Gowri Sankara Rao, Director (Finance), T. Muthukumar, Director (Production & Marketing), Dr. Upender Vennam, IPoS, Chief Vigilance Officer and other senior officials from MIDHANI. Surjit Singh Maan shared his insightful views on the theme stressing on the importance of ways of eradicating corruption in professional as well as personal lives. On the occasion inhouse magazine of Vigilance department "Jagruti" is also relaease. In the event, prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions held during the week. The session ended with a Vote of thanks to all employees of MIDHANI who were committed to contribute wholeheartedly to this program to succeed in its goal towards making India a corruption-free, developed nation.
