NTPC Electron Quiz 2026-27: IIT Kanpur teams secure 1st and 3rd positions

New Delhi: IIT Kanpur emerged as the top performer at the regional round of NTPC Electron Quiz 2026-27, with its teams securing the first and third positions at the competition hosted by NTPC Northern Region Headquarters in Lucknow.

The regional round witnessed participation from 143 teams representing 31 leading engineering and management institutes across Uttar Pradesh. IIT-BHU secured the second position, with the top two teams qualifying for the National Semi-Finals.

Aditya Padhi and Sparsh Jain of IIT Kanpur won the regional round, followed by Ekansh Tyagi and Aryan Raj of IIT-BHU in second place. Parth Arya Bhat and Waqar Moid of IIT Kanpur finished third.

The competition will now move to the National Semi-Finals, with the NTPC Electron Quiz 2026-27 culminating in the National Finals in Noida.

S. N. Panigrahi, Executive Director (HR), NTPC Northern & Southern Region, said the NTPC Electron Quiz has emerged as a prestigious platform for students since its inception in 2004. He highlighted its role in encouraging critical thinking, new ideas and the application of knowledge to real-world business and management challenges.

The 2026-27 edition, themed “The World of Business Management,” is being conducted across nine regional locations — Lucknow, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Noida, Raipur and Patna.

Panigrahi also emphasised the importance of curiosity, innovation and critical thinking in a rapidly changing business and technological environment. He said NTPC remains committed to creating platforms that encourage young minds to question, learn and contribute to a cleaner, smarter and more sustainable future.

The winning teams were felicitated by Panigrahi in the presence of quiz master Gautam Bose, Rahul Sharma, AGM (HR), and senior NTPC officials.
