
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) pavilion at the “Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025” in Bhubaneswar on January 28. The Prime Minister was received by Coal India Limited (CIL) Chairman PM Prasad and MCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Uday A Kaole.
During the visit, Kaole briefed the Prime Minister about MCL's significant contributions to inclusive growth and the company’s commitment to sustainable coal mining practices. As the leading coal producing company under Coal India and the Ministry of Coal, MCL continues to lead the way in responsible energy production.
Prime Minister Modi expressed interest in Mahanadi Coalfields' people-focused initiatives, particularly the involvement of women in the Mines Rescue Team. This initiative, highlights the empowerment of women in a traditionally male-dominated industry, is a significant step forward towards gender inclusivity in the mining sector.
With a focus on sustainable mining practices, MCL is committed to meeting India’s growing energy demands while contributing to environmental preservation and community welfare.
