New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), headed by the Prime Minister has approved dozens of appointments of officers at Joint Secretary/Joint Secretary-equivalent level in various Ministries and Departments. Here is the full list:
Varsha Joshi, a 1995-batch lAS officer of AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying. She has been appointed to the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. With the new appointment, she will replace Mihir Kumar Singh, a 1993-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre.
Anupam Mishra, a 1995-batch Indian Engineering Services (IES) officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs. He has been appointed to the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. With his new appointment, he will replace Amit Mehta, a 1987-batch IOFS officer.
Keshav Chandra, a 1995-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as Director, Serious Fraud Investigation Office under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He has been appointed to the post from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years up to December 17, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Rakesh Mittal, a 1995-batch IDES (Indian Defence Estates Service) officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence under the Ministry of Defence. He has been appointed to the post with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Sajjan S Yadav, a 1995-batch lAS officer of AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Women & Child Development, as Joint Secretary, Department of Expenditure, on a lateral shift basis, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years up to August 19, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Pallavi Agarwal, a 1991-batch Indian Revenue Services (IRS) officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Women & Child Development. She has been appointed to the post with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Aparna S Sharma, a Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers. She has been appointed to the post from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Amit Mehta, a 1987 batch IOFS officer and currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Heavy Industry, on a lateral shift basis. He has been appointed for an overall tenure of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post up to August 1, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Saurav Ray, a 1994-batch IDES officer, has been appointed as Custodian of Enemy Property for India (CEPI) (at Joint Secretary level) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has been appointed to the post for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier by upgrading the post from DS or Director level to JS level, initially for two years, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post.
Parama Sen, a 1994-batch IA&AS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Investment & Public Asset Management. She has been appointed to the post with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Sudhir Kumar, a 1999-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary at Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). He has been appointed to the post on a lateral shift basis with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a combined tenure of seven years up to March 16, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
P Amudha, a 1994-batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu, currently serving as Professor in LBSNAA, Mussoorie, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in Prime Minister's Office, on a lateral shift basis, for the balance period of her five-year central deputation period or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Nidhi Pandey (lInfoS,1991), has been appointed as Commissioner in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, under the Department of School Education & Literacy. She has been appointed to the post with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier
Vinayak Garg, a 1995-batch IRSEE officer, has been appointed as Commissioner of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti under the Department of School Education & Literacy, from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a combined tenure of seven years up-to September 11, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Nitishwar Kumar, a 1996-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Member Secretary in the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) under Department of School Education & Literacy. He has been appointed to the post on a lateral shift basis, with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a combined tenure of seven years up to July 11, 2021, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.
Sanjay Awasthi, a 1989-batch IRS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. He has been appointed to the post with the effect the date of assumption of charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years up to May 22, 2021, or until further orders whichever is earlier.
Further, in the separate orders issued on July 20, Ankur Garg, a 2003-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, has been recommended for the appointment as Director in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT). He has been selected for the appointment under Central Staffing Scheme for a period with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post up to March 10, 2021, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The ACC also approved the appointment of Ajitkumar Vasantrao Sontakke (IOFS) as Deputy Secretary in Central Information Commission (CIC). He has been appointed on the post under Central Staffing Scheme on a lateral shift basis for the remaining period of four years tenure i.e. up to April 20, 2024, from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
And, Krishnamohan Uppu, a 2009-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has been appointed on the post under Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders whichever is earlier.
