BDL Recruitment 2021: Miniratna Defence PSU, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has posted a job vacancy through the PESB portal for the engagement of the Director (Technical). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the job before February 9, 2021. The post will fall vacant on September 1, 2022. Currently, NP Diwakar is serving as Director (Technical) of BDL.

Director (Technical) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He advises on all matters relating to productivity and technology pertaining to projects under development, project with advanced technology and new projects for short and long term plans of the company. He is required to advise and monitor In-house research & development (R&D) for variations, systems & technical upgradations, indigenisation, customer relationship management and project management, promoting indigenisation under the AtmaNirbhar Scheme of the government.

Pay scale: Rs 27,750 – Rs 31,500 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit 40 years and age of superannuation 60 years

The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as on the date of the vacancy.

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 1,000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 1,000 crore or more.

Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Qualification

The applicant should be an engineering graduate preferably in Mechanical or Electronics or Aeronautical or Production Engineering with good academic record from a recognised university or institution.

Applicants holding an MBA or postgraduate diploma in management will have an added advantage.

Experience

The applicant should have adequate experience at senior level of management in a large organisation of repute, out of which at least five years during the last ten years should have been in dealing with missiles or aerospace and R&D projects.

Note (i) Applicants from Central Government or All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Director in Government of India or carrying equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Brigadier in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy or Air Force on the date of application.

Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises or Private Sector should be working at Board level position or at least a post of the level immediately below the Board level on the date of application.

Duration of the appointment

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up-to-the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
