SAIL Recruitment 2025: The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, has issued an official advertisement inviting applications for the position of Director-in-Charge of Bhilai Steel Plant. The Director-in-Charge will serve as a member of SAIL’s Board of Directors, reporting directly to the Chairman. This role entails overall responsibility for the operations of Bhilai Steel Plant and its associated mines, encompassing project implementation, marketing, and sales to achieve corporate objectives and performance benchmarks.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Requirement:

Candidates must be at least 45 years old as of the vacancy date.

Internal candidates must have at least two years of residual service before reaching the superannuation age of 60, while external candidates need three years.

Educational Qualifications:

Applicants must hold an engineering degree from a recognized institution, with an MBA or Postgraduate Diploma in Management providing an additional advantage.

Professional Experience:

Candidates should have significant technical and operational management experience in a reputable large organisation. At least five of the past ten years should have been in the steel sector.

Employment Status:

Eligible candidates include full-time employees of CPSEs, Group 'A' officers of the Central Government, and professionals from SPSEs or private companies with a minimum annual turnover of ₹10,000 crore.

Pay Scale:

The position offers a pay scale of Rs 1,80,000 – Rs 3,40,000 (IDA).

Terms of Appointment:

The appointment is for a period of five years, up to the age of superannuation, or until further notice, whichever occurs earlier. Central Government officers are required to join on an immediate absorption basis.

Application Process:

Applications can be submitted online via the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) website or sent offline after completing the online form. The deadline for application submission is 3:00 PM on February 11, 2025. For nodal officers, the last date for forwarding applications is February 20, 2025.

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Applicants from the private sector must provide additional documentation, including company financials, proof of Board-level or equivalent positions, and details of their professional experience.
