KIOCL contributes Rs 50 lakh for Karnataka chief minister’s relief fund

Karnataka: KIOCL Limited, formerly known 'Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited', under Ministry of Steel, has contributed Rs 50,000,00.00 (Rupees 50 lakhs only) for Karnataka Chief Minister's Relief Fund under its CSR initiative. A team comprising of Subba Rao, CMD, SK Gorai, Director (Finance), senior officials of KIOCL and union representatives met BS Yediyurappa, Chief Minister of Karnataka, and handed over the cheque to the "Chief Minister's Relief Fund for Natural Calamities."

CM Yeddyurappa appreciated the kind gesture of the management in contributing funds for flood relief in the state of Karnataka. The company has been contributing to the state exchequer in the form of taxes, cess and other payments. The company has also been providing employment to local people directly and indirectly to a large extent. KIOCL has been supporting several programmes in the areas of education, medical, and community development activities.

KIOCL has been contributing every year 2 percent of its profit towards corporate social responsibility and has implemented them effectively in and around its plant premises at Mangalore as well as in other districts.
