New Delhi: Mangesh Ghildiyal (IAS) has been promoted as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Currently, he is serving as Under Secretary in the PMO. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the government has approved his appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post on or after January 1, and for a period up-to October 1, 2024.

Ghildiyal is a 2012-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttarakhand cadre. Prior to being appointed to the PMO, he was serving as District Magistrate in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.

Prime Minister's Office (PMO)

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) consists of the immediate staff of the Prime Minister, as well as multiple levels of support staff reporting to the Prime Minister. The PMO is headed by the Principal Secretary, currently Pramod Kumar Misra. The PMO was originally called the Prime Minister's Secretariat until 1977 when it was renamed during the Morarji Desai premiership. It is part of the government and is located in the South Block of the Secretariat Building.
