New Delhi: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Coal, has secured an excellent rating in MoU performance parameters for the year 2018-19. Coal India Limited (CIL), the holding company of NCL, released these ratings on Tuesday based on guidelines of the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE). NCL has been awarded 90.69 marks for performance on production, productivity, financial status, turnover, profit, capital expenditure, research and development, human resources, and several other factors. NCL is the only subsidiary of Coal India Limited to get an excellent rating.

On this splendid achievement, NCL's CMD PK Sinha and functional directors of the company congratulated team NCL and expressed that in future also NCL will continue with its excellent performance. 

NCL is a Singrauli based coal company which is energizing the nation with its round the clock coal production. NCL operates with more than 1200 HEMMS in 10 opencast mega mines for more than 100 million tonnes (MT) of coal production. NCL holds one of the world's largest dragline fleet and uses the mega infrastructure of crushers for quality coal and network of Coal Handling Plants (CHPs). NCL is also planning to construct CHPs of 50 MT capacity.

NCL uses the modern Merry Go Round (MGR) system for transporting coal to its nearby pit head plants and boasts to be the only subsidiary of Coal India to use environment-friendly belt pipe conveyor (BPC).

In FY'2019-20, NCL completed all of its targets and became one of the highest composites (coal + overburden) producing company of the nation. 

NCL has been entrusted with the responsibility of 113.25 MT production and dispatch in the current fiscal. Amid COVID-19 pandemic NCL is moving ahead on its targets with all safety norms. Also, NCL is commissioning 50 MW solar power plants and working with various prestigious institutes of the nation for research and development works in the company.
