New Delhi: Pankaj Saxena (IRSE) has assumed charge as Director (Projects Planning) of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) on Wednesday. Previously, he was Principal Executive Director (Bridge) at Railway Board, Ministry of Railways. He was recommended for the role by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel in October 2021. Saxena is an Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer of the Indian Railways. Prior to his current assignment at the Railway Board, he was posted as Chief Track Engineer at the Northern Railways Zone of the Indian Railways.
Saxena is an Engineering Graduate in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee). He has done M Tech in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-Delhi). He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). He joined Indian Railways as Assistant Engineer in 1991 and subsequently rose to the current position.
DFCCIL is a PSU under the Ministry of Railways to undertake the planning, development, and mobilisation of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the dedicated freight corridors. The DFCCIL was registered as a company under the companies act 1956 in 2006.
