New Delhi: Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday released the book titled 'Coal India Wins Over Covid' in New Delhi. The book showcases the initiatives taken by national miner Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries to help fight the unprecedented challenges of global pandemic COVID-19.
The Ministry of Coal's Secretary Dr Anil Kumar Jain, Additional Secretary of Ministry of Coal Vinod Kumar Tiwari, Chairman of Coal India Pramod Agrawal, CIL's Director (Personnel & IR) Vinay Ranjan, Coal India's Director (Technical) B Veera Reddy and senior officials of the Ministry of Coal & CIL were present on the occasion either physically or through video conferencing.
The book enumerates the contribution of CIL and its subsidiaries as first movers for COVID-19 assistance, steps taken to strengthen medical infrastructure including setting up oxygen plants through 'Mission Pranvayu,' monetary contribution, providing food to migrants, steps taken for ease of doing business, statistical overview of community initiatives and other measures taken by Coal India to help fight this global pandemic.
