Ratna Sekhar Adika set to be full-time CMD of Balmer Lawrie

New Delhi: Ratna Sekhar Adika is set to be full-time Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Balmer Lawrie & Company Limited. He has been recommended for the post by a panel of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), the head hunter body for the PSUs, on Thursday. He is currently serving as Director (HR&CA) in the same organisation, also holding the additional charge of the CMD post.

Adika has been recommended for the post of CMD from a list of nine candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. A total of four candidates in the list were from Balmer Lawrie, two were from Indian Railways, and one each from Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL) and Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).

The CMD post in Balmer Lawrie is vacant since November 1, 2020.

Profile of Ratna Sekhar Adika

Adika is graduated from Osmania University. He has over 25 years of experience in multicultural organisations in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations and Administration. He also has hands-on experience in man-power planning, sourcing, selection and recruitment, fixing up and implementing total pay package, human resources development programs, 360-degree leadership development programme, Performance Management System (PMS) and performance counselling, employee training and executive development programs, career planning, employee motivation programs, employee welfare and loyalty programmes and trade union negotiations.

As CMD of Balmer Lawrie, Adika will be the Chief Executive of the corporation and will be accountable to its board of directors and government and shareholders. He also will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the corporation for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters.

The company is engaged in manufacturing steel barrels and drums, greases and lubricants and leather chemicals and providing services in the areas of travel and tours, logistics, container freight station, Warehousing and distribution, refinery and oil field services, temperature-controlled warehouse etc through its plants, sales offices, branch offices, technical service centres spread all over India.
