New Delhi: Secretary (Power) Sanjiv Nandan Sahai visited NHPC's Subansiri Lower HE Project on December 4 to review the ongoing construction activities at different sites of the project. During the visit Sahai was accompanied by Govt of Arunachal Pradesh's Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, NHPC Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) AK Singh, Ministry of Power's Joint Secretary (Hydro) Tanmay Kumar, Arunachal Pradesh's Commissioner (Power) PS Lokhande and NHPC Limited's (Projects) Ratish Kumar.

On his arrival at the project, Sahai along with other dignitaries was accorded welcome by Ratish Kumar and Subansiri Lower Project's General Manager Vipin Gupta. He was accorded Guard of Honor by the CISF Unit, Subansiri Lower HE Project.

Earlier, on their arrival at Mohanbari Airport, Dibrugarh on December 3, Sahai and other dignitaries were received by SLHEP's Executive Director Arvind Bhat. Sahai visited all the sites of the project and took stock of the progress of ongoing construction activities. Representatives of major work contractors also briefed about the quantum of construction activities at individual fronts. He also inaugurated the re-start of Power House works.

Later in the day, Sahai took a review meeting on the project wherein NHPC's CMD briefed about the various construction activities in the project and downstream river protection works undertaken by NHPC. It has been assured that the project shall be commissioned by March 2022.

Sahai asked the employees to work with maximum zeal to complete the project as per schedule. Secretary (Power) also visited an exhibition organised by farmer-producers companies registered for livelihood interventions initiated by NHPC in the field of Piggery, Sericulture and Handloom. The visiting dignitaries appreciated the efforts and initiative of NHPC for the people living in the downstream areas.
