New Delhi: Neha Verma (IFoS) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Ministry of Steel. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Thursday, she has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of five years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Neha is a 2005-batch Indian Forest Service (IFoS) service officer of the Uttarakhand cadre. She was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. “She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in the Ministry of Steel,” the order added.
Neha did B Tech from IIT-Kanpur in 1998 and subsequently worked in the corporate sector for six years, both in India as well as in the USA, in Infosys Technologies Limited, Manhattan Associates Limited and Adobe Technologies Limited. She also did a Postgraduate programme in Public Policy and Management from IIM Bangalore and M Sc in Forestry from Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy. Her fields of specialization include sustainability (Green Financing, Circular Economy), climate change, environment, biodiversity, forestry, wildlife and public policy, complemented by strong analytical skills and technical background.
