BHEL secures largest-ever gas turbine package order from Nigeria's Dangote Refinery

New Delhi: State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Tuesday said that it has secured a major export order from Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise, Nigeria, for the supply and supervision of erection and commissioning of eight Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) packages.

The order, won amid intense international competition, marks BHEL's largest-ever single order for Gas Turbine Generator packages on a supply and supervision basis in terms of both quantity and value.

Under the contract, BHEL will manufacture and supply eight GTG packages, while also supervising their erection and commissioning at the project site in Nigeria. The equipment will be manufactured at the company's facilities in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

The company has executed several power sector projects across Africa, including in Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, Rwanda, Senegal and Sudan, and has previously supplied a 26 MW Gas Turbine Generator package to the Government of Cross River State in Nigeria.

With over four decades of experience in manufacturing gas turbines, BHEL has supplied nearly 250 gas turbines worldwide, with more than 20 percent of its installations exported to international customers.
