BHEL withdraws acceptance of LOI for 800 MW Anuppur Thermal Power project

New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has withdrawn its acceptance of a Letter of Intent (LOI) issued by MB Power (Madhya Pradesh) Limited for the supply of key equipment for the 1x800 MW Anuppur Thermal Power Project.

In a regulatory filing to stock exchanges, BHEL informed that the LOI, originally accepted on September 3, 2025, was contingent upon the execution of a formal contract within a stipulated timeline. However, despite multiple rounds of discussions and extensions, the contract could not be finalised in line with the agreed terms.

Consequently, the company has withdrawn its acceptance of the LOI. BHEL also confirmed that the customer was formally notified of the withdrawal at 16:36 hours on April 17, 2026.

The scope of the proposed contract included the supply of critical equipment such as Boiler, Turbine, and Generator (BTG) for the thermal power project.
