

New Delhi: State-owned lender Canara Bank on Monday handed over a dividend cheque of Rs 2,397 crore to the Government of India for the financial year 2025-26.

The dividend cheque has been presented to the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman by Canara Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Brajesh Kumar Singh. On the occasion, senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and the bank’s Executive Directors Hardeep Singh Ahluwalia, Bhavendra Kumar and Sunil Kumar Chugh were also present.
For FY26, Canara Bank declared a dividend of Rs 4.20 per equity share.
"The dividend payout is a testament to Canara Bank’s strong financial performance and its ongoing commitment to creating long-term value for all stakeholders, including its majority stakeholder, the Government of India," the public lender said in an official statement.

The bank reported a record net profit of Rs 19,187 crore for the financial year 2025-26, registering an increase of 12.69 percent over the net profit of Rs 17,027 crore reported in the previous financial year.
