This robust growth is attributed to strategic policy interventions, continuous monitoring, and proactive support to stakeholders, facilitating faster operational clearances and enhanced production capacities. A pivotal factor in this achievement is the commencement of operations in newly developed coal blocks.

The Kotre Basantpur Pachmo block, operated by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), began production on April 15, 2025. This opencast mine, located in Ramgarh, Jharkhand, has a Peak Rated Capacity (PRC) of 5 MT per annum . Similarly, the Naini coal block, managed by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), commenced operations on April 16, 2025. Situated in Odisha's Angul district, this opencast mine boasts a PRC of 10 MT per annum. Notably, the Naini block represents SCCL's first operational venture outside Telangana in its 136-year history, marking a significant milestone in the company's expansion efforts.
