"Safety of our personnel and equipment has always been a cornerstone of our work culture," Kaole stated. "MCL has been a pioneer in adopting innovative technologies like surface miners, revolutionising coal extraction with blast-less techniques. Now, with AI-enabled systems, we aim to elevate our safety standards further, ensuring the well-being of our employees and efficient operation of our machinery."

Senior officials, including Director (Personnel) Keshav Rao; Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) PK Patel; Director (Technical-Operations/Projects & Planning) JK Borah; and Director (Finance) AK Behura, joined the event, highlighting the importance of safety practices.

PK Patel and JK Borah jointly unfurled the Safety Flag at MCL's headquarters, symbolizing the commencement of the fortnight-long observance.

The event also saw virtual participation from Krishnendu Mondal, Director of Mines Safety (Mining) for the Bhubaneswar Region-1, South-Eastern Zone, Ranchi, who addressed employees and emphasized safety compliance in mining operations.

Similar safety programs were simultaneously launched in MCL’s operational regions across Odisha's Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, and Angul districts. Over the next two weeks, various activities and competitions will be organized to reinforce the culture of safety across all levels of the organisation.
