New Delhi: The Ministry of Mines is poised to unveil the nation's first "Critical Minerals List" in an effort to reduce import dependencies, bolster supply chain resilience, and align with the country's net zero objectives, said the Ministry in a statement. Union Minister of Coal, Mines & Parliamentary Affairs, Pralhad Joshi will officially release the list at a ceremony to be held at the India International Centre in New Delhi on June 28, the statement added.

The event will witness the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Minister of State for Mines, Coal & Railways, Raosaheb Patil Danve, as well as foreign dignitaries, industry representatives, subject matter experts, and senior government officials, said the statement. The ceremony will feature a short documentary highlighting key highlights of the Critical Minerals list, and selected major critical minerals will be displayed during the event, the statement added.
