
New Delhi: A minor fire incident was reported this morning at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited's (BHEL) Bhopal unit. The fire broke out at approximately 11:30 AM in a garbage heap located in an isolated zone near Material Gate No. 9, adjacent to the plantation area of the unit.
The situation was swiftly brought under control through the prompt response of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) fire team stationed at the facility. They were supported by additional fire tenders from the municipal authorities and the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), all of whom responded immediately to the incident.
According to BHEL, the fire remained confined to the plantation area and did not pose any threat to the plant’s operations. No machinery, equipment, or property was damaged, and importantly, there were no injuries or casualties reported.
As a precautionary measure, fire safety teams continue to monitor the affected area, and surveillance will be maintained through the night to ensure complete safety.
In an official statement, BHEL reiterated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety across all its facilities and extended its gratitude to all the agencies involved for their swift and effective response.
The incident has had no impact on the operations of the BHEL Bhopal unit, and all activities are continuing as normal.
