New Delhi: NBCC (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) for the development of “Naveen Nagpur,” a newly envisioned business district in Maharashtra. The MoU has been signed on Tuesday, in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The agreement has been signed by NBCC's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) KP Mahadevaswamy and the Metropolitan Commissioner of NMRDA Sanjay Meena (IAS). The senior officials and dignitaries from both organisations were also present at the signing ceremony.
Under the MoU, NBCC has been appointed as the Project Management Consultant for the project, which spans approximately 1,710 acres (692 hectares). Of this, 1,000 acres will be dedicated to the business district, while 710 acres are reserved for future expansion.
Naveen Nagpur is planned to be developed on a plug-and-play model, featuring advanced infrastructure including integrated underground utility tunnels, a district cooling system, automated waste collection, and a waste segregation plant. The project will cater to start-ups, MSMEs, IT companies, and commercial offices, along with residential and mixed-use developments aligned with modern town planning guidelines.
The project is designed to be rolled out in phases and is expected to position Naveen Nagpur as a planned International Business and Finance Centre (IBFC), strengthening the region’s strategic growth trajectory.
