

New Delhi: NTPC Limited on Friday announced that 90 MW capacity of its Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat has been declared commercially operational, taking the group’s total installed capacity close to 90 GW.

The company informed stock exchanges that its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has declared the commercial operation date (COD) for the seventh part capacity of 90 MW out of the 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project. The project is being executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC through NGEL.
According to the company, the newly commissioned 90 MW capacity will become operational with effect from April 25.

Following this development, NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has risen to 89,705 MW, while its commercial capacity now stands at 88,625 MW.
The Khavda solar project, located in Gujarat, is part of NTPC’s broader push towards expanding its renewable energy portfolio and supporting India’s clean energy transition. The phased commissioning of the project reflects the company’s strategy to steadily scale up green capacity while ensuring timely execution.
