New Delhi/Rourkela: The Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday inaugurated the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) Pavilion at the 25th Enterprise Odisha exhibition, being held in Rourkela from January 28 to 30.
The pavilion was inaugurated in the presence of Sampad Swain, Minister for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education, following which the Chief Minister took a walkthrough of the exhibition space.
OMC’s participation highlights its position as India’s third-largest iron ore producer, with the state-owned miner moving towards record production in the current financial year, supported by scale, operational efficiency and responsible mining practices.
At the pavilion, OMC is showcasing its initiatives in sustainable mining, digital innovations in safety and operations, mineral exploration, and value addition through its Ferrochrome Plant and Chrome Ore Beneficiation Plants.
The corporation currently operates 19 mines producing iron ore, chrome, bauxite, manganese and limestone, catering to key mineral-based industries such as steel, aluminium and ferrochrome. Mandated by the Odisha government, OMC is also leading mineral exploration initiatives across the state to strengthen Odisha’s mineral resource base.
The Enterprise Odisha exhibition serves as a key platform for industry stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore growth opportunities. OMC said its participation reflects its strategic role in Odisha’s mineral-led industrial development and its contribution to national mineral security.
