ONGC invites global partners to deploy offshore drilling asset ‘Sagar Bhushan’

New Delhi: State-run energy major Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has invited global exploration and production (E&P) operators and offshore drilling partners to collaborate in deploying its offshore drilling vessel ‘Sagar Bhushan’, as part of efforts to expand its international footprint and strengthen offshore capabilities.

In a social media post on X, ONGC said that the Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) Sagar Bhushan is fully equipped and ready for immediate deployment. The drillship, with IMO number 8407266, is designed to operate in water depths of up to 1,000 feet and features an eight-point anchor mooring system along with dedicated station-keeping capability, ensuring stability and performance in challenging offshore environments.

The vessel is capable of accommodating over 100 personnel and is supported by robust propulsion systems and advanced drilling equipment. ONGC highlighted that the asset has a strong operational track record and has recently undergone upgrades and dry dock surveys, enhancing its readiness for global assignments.

Currently stationed at Dighi Port, the drillship is being offered for leasing or chartered hiring, providing an opportunity for global operators to augment their offshore exploration capabilities with a proven asset.
