New Delhi: REC Limited on Monday said that it has incorporated a new subsidiary named - 'Vizag Power Transmission Limited' to support transmission infrastructure for proposed green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in the Vizag region of Andhra Pradesh. The information has been shared by the power PSU in a regulatory filing to stock exchnages on February 16.
The company has been set up as a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), which itself is a wholly owned subsidiary of REC. The new entity, Vizag Power Transmission Limited, has an authorised and paid-up capital of Rs 5 lakh and is yet to commence operations, the filing said.
According to the disclosure, the incorporation follows a Gazette Notification issued by the Ministry of Power on December 26, 2025, assigning an inter-state transmission project for proposed green hydrogen and green ammonia facilities in the Vizag area. RECPDCL has been appointed as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for selecting a transmission service provider through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route.
The company said that after the successful bidder is selected under the TBCB process, the newly formed special-purpose vehicle will be transferred to the selected bidder along with its assets and liabilities, in line with prevailing project development norms.
