New Delhi: As part of a special drive to fast-track the resolution of long-pending disputes related to workers, the regional labour commissioner will hear 178 cases linked to metro rail operator DMRC on Wednesday.

All 178 claim cases, involving the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), have been identified for focused hearing and disposal to reduce pendency and ensure speedy delivery of justice, the labour ministry said in a statement on Monday.

The Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), New Delhi-cum-Authority under the Code on Wages, 2019, has issued notices on June 15, 2026, for the appearance of the parties on June 24, 2026, the ministry said.

The exercise is part of the special drive launched by the Office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), from June 1 to August 31, for expeditious disposal of long-pending labour cases, it said, adding that June 24 has been fixed exclusively for matters pertaining to DMRC.

It also said that the Additional General Manager (Projects), DMRC, has assured full cooperation for the special drive.

DMRC is a joint venture between the Centre and the Delhi government.

According to the labour ministry, the exercise marks the beginning of a new approach of bucketing similar cases and undertaking cluster-based hearings, enabling labour authorities to deal with large volumes of cases in an efficient, structured, and time-bound manner.

The initiative is expected to serve as a model for speedy disposal of pending matters across the country and contribute to greater administrative efficiency in labour law enforcement, it said.
