New Delhi/Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Special Protection Force (APSPF) to strengthen the security framework of the Vizag Steel Plant.

As part of the initiative, 75 APSPF personnel were inducted into the security ecosystem of the steel plant with the support and cooperation of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The MoU formalises the deployment and cooperation framework between RINL and APSPF for enhancing security arrangements at the plant.

Addressing the gathering, M Madhusudhan Rao, General Manager (HR)-Services, said the induction of APSPF personnel marks a significant step towards strengthening the security infrastructure of the Vizag Steel Plant. He noted that the collaboration between RINL and APSPF would help ensure a safe and secure working environment while improving coordination and operational efficiency.

K.N. Rao, Commandant, APSPF, expressed satisfaction over the deployment of APSPF personnel at the plant and said the assignment would provide valuable industrial exposure and experience to the force personnel. He added that the APSPF team is committed to discharging its responsibilities with dedication and professionalism.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rakesh Nandan Sahay, Director (Personnel), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, thanked the Andhra Pradesh government for extending support in strengthening the security arrangements of RINL. He expressed confidence that APSPF personnel would play an important role in enhancing security, discipline and coordination at the steel plant.

RINL said it would extend all necessary facilities and support to APSPF personnel for the effective discharge of their duties.

Senior officials including Shri Y Chandra Sekher, GM (TA, Training, Sports & Contracts), Dr JN Sarangi, GM (M&HS), N Sundaram, DGM (MS & Administration), APSPF personnel and other officials were present during the event.

RINL also reiterated its gratitude to the Andhra Pradesh government for extending security assistance, stating that protection of the plant’s assets, infrastructure, manpower and operations remains a top priority for the strategic public sector enterprise.
