
New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has announced that it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from IRCON International Limited for a Rs 178.64 crore contract involving extensive signalling and telecommunication works in the Gevra Road–Pendra Road section of Chhattisgarh. Both are PSUs under the Ministry of Railways.
The scope of work includes the supply of signalling, telecommunications, and EIMWB materials; installation, testing, and commissioning of distributed/centralised electronic interlocking systems at 10 new stations — Surakachhar, Block Cabin, Katghora Road, Bhingra, Putuwa, Matin, Sendurgarh, Putipakhana, Dhangawan, and Bhadi — as well as six new intermediate block signalling (IBS) systems across various block sections.
The project also covers the commissioning of a new Section Control System with train control communication equipment, a new telephone exchange, and EIMWBs at designated locations, along with alterations to existing interlocking systems at Kusmunda Block Station and SECL SILO Siding’s East Cabin.
The contract, valued at Rs 178,64,60,939.78 (inclusive of transportation, insurance, taxes, and duties), is to be executed within 11 months, including the monsoon period. RVNL confirmed that the order is part of its normal course of business and does not fall under related-party transactions.
