SECI achieves 'Excellent' rating in FY 2023-24 performance evaluation

New Delhi: The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) has been awarded an "Excellent" rating by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) for its performance in the fiscal year 2023-24. According to an official statement, SECI achieved an impressive score of 96 out of 100, demonstrating its exceptional operational standards and adherence to high corporate governance benchmarks.

As a leading Central Public Sector Enterprise, SECI has played a pivotal role in advancing India's renewable energy sector. By December 31, 2024, the corporation had awarded a cumulative renewable energy generation capacity exceeding 73 Giga Watts (GW). This milestone reinforces SECI's status as the nation's premier Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA).

In the financial year 2023-24, SECI witnessed significant growth across key performance indicators. Its annual trading volume increased by 22.13 percent, totaling 42.935 billion units. The total income of the corporation rose by 20.91 percent over the previous year, reaching Rs 13,135.80 crore. Moreover, SECI's Profit After Tax (PAT) saw a 38.13 percent rise, amounting to Rs 436.03 crore. These achievements underscore SECI's robust financial performance and its critical role in meeting India's climate objectives.

Further, SECI was granted the prestigious Navratna status by the Ministry of Finance on August 30, 2024. This designation enhances the corporation's autonomy and financial authority, enabling it to undertake larger projects and contribute significantly to India's renewable energy ambitions.
