New Delhi: In a strategic move to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem, Shree Cement Limited has signed an MoU with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The collaboration aims to promote manufacturing incubation by supporting startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs in the sector.
The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials, including Neeraj Akhoury, Managing Director of Shree Cement, Sumeet Jarangal, Director at DPIIT, and Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary at DPIIT. This partnership is positioned as a significant step toward empowering India’s manufacturing sector, particularly for product-based startups.
As part of this initiative, Shree Cement will offer infrastructure, mentorship, access to funding, and market linkages to selected startups. The support will guide these businesses from early-stage development to potential global expansion, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed.
Neeraj Akhoury, MD of Shree Cement, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with DPIIT underscores our commitment to innovation in the manufacturing sector. By empowering startups, we aim to strengthen self-reliance in domestic manufacturing and drive economic growth.”
Sumeet Jarangal, Director at DPIIT, highlighted the broader impact of the partnership, saying, “This collaboration sets a strong foundation for early-stage startups in manufacturing and supports India’s ambition to become a manufacturing hub, especially in the cement sector.”
The agreement highlights the critical role of the private sector in nurturing startups through funding, modern infrastructure, research and development facilities, and specialized mentorship. This collaboration aligns with DPIIT's broader initiatives to foster a robust startup ecosystem and promote innovation in manufacturing, positioning Indian startups for global leadership.
Through this MoU, Shree Cement and DPIIT are paving the way for a future where Indian manufacturing startups can thrive and contribute to the country’s economic and industrial growth.
