

New Delhi: SJVN Limited held its 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) through video conferencing from its corporate headquarters in Shimla, highlighting record power generation, capacity additions and strong financial performance during FY 2025-26.
Addressing shareholders, SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta said the company and its associate companies added 1,730 MW of installed capacity during FY26 and achieved their highest-ever annual generation of 13,302.39 million units from all operational power stations.

SJVN’s 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station crossed 150 billion units of cumulative generation since commissioning during the year, while achieving a Plant Availability Factor of 96.84 percent. The 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station also recorded its highest-ever annual generation of 2,108 million units. The 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station generated 310.36 million units, exceeding its design energy of 265.5 million units by around 17 percent.
The company reported significant improvement in its consolidated financial performance. Total revenue rose to Rs 4,722.81 crore in FY26 from Rs 3,376.50 crore in the previous year, while Profit Before Tax increased to Rs 1,200.63 crore from Rs 1,111.69 crore. Consolidated Profit After Tax stood at Rs 641.85 crore.
On a standalone basis, SJVN’s total income increased to Rs 3,869.66 crore from Rs 3,252.44 crore, while Profit After Tax rose to Rs 1,007.90 crore from Rs 970.18 crore in FY25.
The AGM approved a final dividend of Rs 0.35 per share, taking the total dividend for FY26 to Rs 1.50 per share, including the interim dividend of Rs 1.15 per share already paid during the year.
SJVN expanded its generation portfolio during FY26 with the full-capacity commercial operation of the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project. The project crossed one billion units of cumulative generation within a short period. The 70 MW Dhubri Solar Power Project in Assam was also commissioned during the year.
The company also marked its entry into large-scale thermal power generation with the commercial operation of the 660 MW Unit-I of the 1,320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project. The second 660 MW unit is at an advanced stage of construction and is expected to be commissioned shortly.
Progress was also recorded across SJVN’s under-construction portfolio. The 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal advanced across civil, hydro-mechanical, electro-mechanical and transmission works. Construction also progressed on the 382 MW Sunni Dam, 210 MW Luhri Stage-I and 69.50 MW Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Projects.
During FY26, SJVN received recognition for its human resource and people-centric initiatives, including the SCOPE Eminence Award in Human Resource Management, Rajbhasha Prabha Award, National Clean Industry Awards 2025 and Swachhta Pakhwada Awards 2025.

The company spent Rs 30.72 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainable development activities during the year. Through the SJVN Foundation, it continued initiatives in healthcare, education, skill development, women empowerment, rural infrastructure and community development, particularly in and around its project areas.
SJVN also retained an ‘Excellent’ rating under the Department of Public Enterprises and continued to focus on corporate governance standards.
Updating shareholders on FY27 performance, Gupta said SJVN had added another 75 MW to its installed capacity through the commissioning of the 75 MW Jamui Solar Power Project in Bihar. With this addition, SJVN’s operational portfolio has reached 4,271.50 MW.
Gupta said SJVN remains committed to supporting India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and Net-Zero emissions by 2070. He also acknowledged the support of the Central and State governments, ministries, departments, shareholders, partner institutions and other stakeholders, and credited the company’s employees for its operational and strategic progress.
