New Delhi: The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) or Vizag Steel Plant (VSP) recorded a strong performance during the financial year 2025–26, achieving significant growth across key production and sales parameters compared to the previous year.

VSP Deputy General Manager (DGM) J Mallikarjun Rao said hot metal production reached nearly six million tonnes, up from over 3.9 million tonnes in 2024–25, registering a growth of 52 per cent, while liquid steel output rose to 5.6 million tonnes from 3.7 million tonnes, marking a similar increase.

“RINL has achieved significant growth across production and sales parameters during FY 2025–26, reflecting improved efficiency and enhanced capacity utilisation,” said Rao in an official press release from VPA.

Crude steel production stood at 5.4 million tonnes as against 3.5 million tonnes in the previous year, recording a growth of 51 per cent, he said.

On the sales, Rao said the company achieved a turnover of over Rs 22,300 crore, up from around Rs 18,280 crore in 2024–25, reflecting a 22 per cent rise.

Sales volume also improved to about 4.4 million tonnes compared to 3.4 million tonnes last year, registering a growth of 27 per cent, he added.

The improved performance highlights better operational efficiency, enhanced capacity utilisation and stronger market reach, driven by sustained focus on productivity, cost control and customer satisfaction, he said.
