New Delhi: Nishtha Tiwari (IRS) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs. She was recommended for the Central deputation by the Department of Revenue. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), she has been selected for the appointment to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. "She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instruction to take up her new assignment in the Ministry of Home Affairs," the order read.

Nishtha is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of the 2005-batch. She is currently serving in the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance. 

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is mainly responsible for the maintenance of internal security and domestic policy. The Home Ministry is headed by Amit Shah. The Home Ministry is also the cadre controlling authority for the Indian Police Service (IPS), DANIPS and DANICS. Police-I Division of the ministry is the cadre controlling authority in respect of the Indian Police Service; whereas, the UT Division is the administrative division for DANIPS.
