NLC India Ltd Recruitment 2022: Navratna Coal PSU, NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has released a job notification for the engagement of the Director (Power). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the job before June 28. The post will fall vacant on February 1, 2023. Shaji John is the current Director (Power) of NLC India Limited.

Director (Power) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He/She is in charge of and responsible for the integrated, safe & efficient operation and maintenance of thermal power plants in operation which, inter-alia, include planning, coordination and monitoring of all the activities related to O&M, representing the company in the statutory bodies like Southern Regional Power Committee, Standing Committee on Power System Planning of the Southern Region etc. and resolution of issues with statutory bodies like the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, Pollution Control Board etc. He/She is also in charge of the Power Station Engineering Department, which finalizes feasibility reports, technical specifications and related engineering works for setting up of new Thermal Power Plants. He/She is also in charge of the construction and commissioning of new Thermal Power Plants of NLC and its subsidiary companies.

Pay scale: Rs 1,80,000 – Rs 3,40,000 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 45 years and the age of superannuation is 60 years

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 5,000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 5,000 crore or more.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Educational qualification

The applicant should be an Engineering graduate preferably in electrical or mechanical from a recognised university or institute with a good academic record.

Applicants with MBA or PGDM qualifications will have an added advantage.

Work experience

The applicant should have at least five years of cumulative experience or exposure in Planning or Erection or Operation and Maintenance in the Power generation Sector during the last ten years in an organisation of repute.

Note (i) Applicants from Central Government / All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Joint Secretary in the Government of India or carrying an equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Major General in the Army or equivalent rank in the Navy or Air Force on the date of application.

Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises/ Private Sector should be working at Board level position or at least a post of the level immediately below the Board level on the date of application.

Duration of the appointment

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up-to-the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
