PFC’s Dr G Jawahar set to be next Director (HR) of BEML

New Delhi: Dr G Jawahar is set to be the next Director (HR) of BEML Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Wednesday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (HR) in Power Finance Corporation (PFC), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power.

Jawahar has been recommended for the post of Director (HR) of BEML from a list of six candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection penal in its selection meeting held on July 27. Out of six candidates, four candidates were from BEML and one each from PFC and Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Limited.

Dr Jawahar is an MBA in Management from Madurai Kamaraj University. He has also done PhD in Human Resources Management from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Previously, he has served in Power Grid and NHPC Limited.

As Director (HR) of BEML, Dr Jawahar will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be overall in charge of coordinating and implementing personnel and industrial relations policies, management functions, administrative control etc. in the organisation.
