
New Delhi: Dr Anitha Thampi is set to be the next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of HLL Lifecare Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. She has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Monday. Presently, she is serving as Director (Technical and Operations) in the same organisation. She is also holding additional charge of CMD and Director (Finance) posts.
Dr Thampi has been recommended for the post of CMD of HLL Lifecare Ltd from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on December 30. Out of 12 candidates, five candidates were from Steel Authority of India (SAIL), two candidates from ONGC and one each from HLL Lifecare Ltd, Indian Oil, BHEL, NTPC and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology.
Dr Thampi is graduated from the University of Kerala with a B Tech in chemical engineering. She obtained her M Tech in Technology and Development and her PhD in Municipal Solid Waste Management from IIT Mumbai. She has an experience of over 30 years in technical and managerial positions with HLL. She has held a variety of roles in the company, including Vice President of HLL Corporate R&D, CEO of HLL Management Academy, the academic and social development division of HLL, CEO of Goa Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals Limited (subsidiary of HLL), in charge of the HR department at HLL, and Unit Chief of HLL Peroorkada factory.
